Yes day

p dir=”ltr”>Recently, Hazel earned a "Yes" day, where Kim and I would say yes to nearly anything. My father Malcolm was visiting from Texas this weekend, and we asked if he’d be up for being part of "yes day".

p dir=”ltr”>Kim and I both thought it was cute that she basically chose stuff we’ve done before. It wasn’t even that extreme, although the amount of junk food consumed was WAY beyond normal.

p dir=”ltr”>She did ask "can we buy Legoland tickets today but do something else today". We did, but agreed that she could only use that trick once!

p dir=”ltr”>Hazel wanted to make oat pancakes shaped like Minnie mouse. We did. We spent most of the day at the Santa Monica pier, riding rides. Weekend even let them play a carnival game. I was so prepared for tears when no prize was won, but they both won little prizes and we’re thrilled. We played on the beach.

p dir=”ltr”>She had asked to come home and make homemade sushi, but we played for a long time and people needed food that wasn’t popcorn or churros, and ran out of time. We got home around 10, both girls still awake, and her last request was to stay up late and watch a movie while eating ice cream! Our kids get very, very little TV, but we indulged. Hazel was the only one that finished the movie, I think everyone else was asleep in the first 10 minutes.
